Personal shopping services you didn’t know existed

Personal stylist: @asos_lesley

Personal shopping is a service newly surfaced on the high street and more brand offer this service than we think, usually it’s free (what a bonus).

Asos: The service is done through an online chat where you can discuss with the stylist the ideas you have and the pieces you are looking to purchase. It included a virtual scrapbook where you are able to upload images of pieces you like and then pieces the stylist likes. This is then edited and adjusted based on your preferences. A massive bonus to this service is that you can do it from the comfort of your own home and then order anything you like with the option of next day delivery.

Topshop: New in Basic Boyfriend tee. £18

Topshop: Topshop/Topman offers a service in some selected physical stores where customers are able to book an appointment and see a range of clothing pieces which complement their height, build and skin tone. This experience is very relaxed and allows customers to gain insight into new trends and also basic pieces.

The benefits of using this service compared to the ASOS one is that you are able to physically try on and feel the products. For me, this experience seems like it would be more personal as you can speak directly to the stylist and build an in-person relationship. This experience is developed through a luxury and relaxed atmosphere which helps to create an environment we would all enjoy shopping in.

John Lews

John Lewis: As one of the largest department stores in the UK, consumers are able to receive a personal shopping and styling experience. Stylist are able to give consumers the best possible advice on eye-catching items and staples they need in their wardrobe. This experience is one which could potentially save our high street stores as it creates a personal experience for consumers.
