‘It’s time for a quick refresh’
Kelsey Barker
The key to a clear mind is to remove all of the unwanted and unnecessary items in your life, in particular in your wardrobe. My main passion on this blog is discussing all things basic and of course that includes a complete basic wardrobe. If you want to jump on the basics train and find out how to remove all the unwanted items from your wardrobe, todays post is for you!
Step 1: Be in control of your wardrobe. Look through each item so you are able to see exactly what is is you own and get an idea of items that you might be missing. This could include a plain black jacket which can be paired with multiple things to create a variety of looks. Start to pull everything out and begin to group the items into 3 groups, one for items you defiently don’t need and could 100% go to a new home, one for those items you completly need inyour life and then a group of items you arent sure if you need but you still like. This final group you will sort through once everything starts to go back into your wardrobe.
Step 2: After the groups are created grab the items in the ‘completly need these in my life’ and begin to section into item category so you can clearly see what tshirts you have, how many pairs of the same blue jeans you have etc. This might allow you to remove more items from this group along the way! This step will allow you to see the types of styles you prefer and the colours you usualluy go for, maybe make you realsie there are some basic colours you are missing in your life.
Step 3: Hopefully you now have a variety of differnt groups clearly visable. It’s Time to start putting them back in their trusted home-the wardrobe. Hang the items that are more special and those that crease easily and fold any items that are happy to be folded.
Step 4: It’s time to send off them clothes you don’t want to charity or to friends and family and take a look at your fresh new wardrobe full of only the clothes you need and will actually wear. We know how happy new clothes make everyone, so why not send your friends some pictures of old items, invite them round for a movie night and let them pick the pieces they will use.
Step 5: When purchasing new clothes it can sometimes be hard to say no, but remember all the hard work you have put into removing unwanted and unnecessary clothing from your life. Now ask yourself, Do I really need this black t-shirt? Is it going to add something new and useful to my wardrobe? If the answer is NO, but it down and walk away.
